The Ps MoLD spearheaded a livestock field day at Oyani farm on 14th June , 2010.This brought together all the stakeholders in the agriculture sector and specifically the livestock sub sector. The Field day has been organized by the Ministry of Livestock Development, the Oyani Livestock Farm Board of Management and the stakeholders’ forum from this district.Read More...

A sensitization workshop was carried out by the Ministry on Disease-Free zoning awareness for parliamentary group, at Mombasa Continental Resort on 4th June 2010.



The Ministry through the NALEP Project is planning to develop a Rural Tannery and Cottage Industry in Kinna-Garbatulla District. This will build capacity, which will be used to create awareness on quality assurance
to other groups in the region through extension and strong linkages.



The stakeholders in the Hides,Skins and Leather Subsector, now have a Leather Development Council (LDC) which was formed by a Legal notice number 65 under Cap 359 (Hide, Skin and Leather Trade Act) through Kenya Gazette Supplement No. 28 (Legislative Supplement No. 19)
dated 7th May 2010.This was established to spearhead and guide the development of the subsector.Read more...

The Leather Development officers met their stakeholders in different
regions in the country which covers all the provinces to deliberate on
the Draft Leather and Leather Products Strategic Plan(2008-2012).
